Congratulations to Karen and John (Griffo) on the marriage of their elder daughter Bec to Justin last weekend.  Sister Mandy and granddaughter Georgia were bridesmaids.

Over the Anzac Day long weekend the Southern Cross Challenge was held at Redlands Softball.  Unfortunately the first day was cancelled due to very heavy rain and games were rescheduled.

Several Sharks players were competing in different teams in both the women's and men's competitions.

Queensland Heat - Sheridan Darroch

Queensland Maroon (Women) - Demi Todd

Queensland Patriots - Guy Covacin, Josh Davison (All Star Team), Julian Jemmott, Jason Nathan (All Star Team), Wade Prouten (All Star Team) and Darren Pyke (All Star Team).

Queensland Maroon (Men) - Tom Bailey, Jeremy Jemmott and Damien Nairn.

Te Waipounai - Hamish Monkman (Most Valuable Player Award and All Star Team)

Queensland Heat were undefeated during the rounds scoring a massive 91 runs and only let in 4 runs.  They defeated the Australian U/19 team in the grand final 2 - 1.

Queensland Patriots were also undefeated during the round games and advanced to the grand final after a close semi final against the Canterbury Red Sox.  They met the Red Sox again in the grand final but unfortunately lost by a single run scored at the top of the seventh innings. 

It was a great tournament and well done to all the Sharks players!

 Sharks A Grade player Geri Wright married Peter Mein (Scorpions) on Saturday 10th April.  Congratulations to you both on your new life together. 

Fellow Sharks A Grade player, Sheridan Darroch was a bridesmaid at their wedding.
